OUR WHY AND THE UN DEVELOPMENT GOALS

We have adopted two of the United Nations development goals as a key part of our design philosophy.

Goal number 11 is Sustainable Cities and Communities. There are complex challenges that we are all facing with 1 million new people on the planet every week, therefore we need to be much smarter and more sustainable about what we do. We have the knowledge and the skills to design better buildings, more efficiently than ever before. Our mission is to use design to drive innovation and real change to tackle the degradation of ecosystems and climate change. To achieve this we must work in a more collaborative way with clients, consultants and contractors to find better construction solutions and improve building performance.

Goal number 4 is Quality Education. We have chosen education as one of our key goals as we are already involved in tertiary education of students of architecture. Education is at the core of making change in the world and only 1% of the world’s population has access to tertiary education. Those of us who are educated have a responsibility to help develop solutions to issues such as climate change. We also have a responsibility to disseminate our knowledge to other parts of the help to help them develop local solutions.
